A new, efficient protocol eliminates attacks on decentralized finance platforms and ensures a novel notion of differential order-fairness for transactions in atomic broadcast.

A recent paper co-authored by Jovana Micic, Nathalie Steinhauer and Luca Zanolini introduces differential order fairness as a notion for transaction ordering in consensus and atomic broadcast. We also present the quick order-fair atomic broadcast protocol that implements this notion on top of an arbitrary consensus mechanism. It is more efficient than existing algorithms addressing the same problem.

The research paper describing these results will be published at the Financial Cryptography Conference (FC) 2022.

Our research blog contains also a longer description of order fairness and the quick order-fair broadcast protocol.
